JSK 404 – A 1959 Triumph TR3a

On May 31st, 2014 I bought a 1959 Triumph TR3A at auction. At the time, it looked lovely sat there in its gleaming British Racing Green paint and chrome wire wheels.

What followed after, was 18 months of pain repairing what turned out to be a complete wreck of a car. Imagine a car that had suffered years of neglect and being run on a shoestring – that was my supposed pride and joy. A lesson learned the hard way not to buy a car at auction unless you know what you’re looking at was compounded by local garage incompetence.

However, JSK is now back to her former glory thanks to 7 months of solid work at Watermill Carriage Co Ltd near Truro in Cornwall – a proper classic car garage that only specialises in Triumph TR’s. From the front bumper to the tip of the rear exhaust pipe has been replaced, rebuilt, or repaired while trying to keep the car as close to original as possible.
