JSK 404 originally came with an A Type overdrive gearbox, hence the LO designation on the chassis number (Left Hand Drive, Overdrive).
When purchased, the car was fitted with a standard non overdrive gearbox. This has now been replaced with a fully reconditioned 3-sychro gearbox fitted with an A Type overdrive which will operate in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears.
In addition to the actual overdrive and gearbox you will need;
- Gearbox overdrive harness
- Overdrive switch harness
- 6RA Overdrive Relay
- Overdrive dash switch
- Overdrive solenoid
Total cost of the parts are around £180 for the harnesses, relay and solenoid then about £1300 to £1700 for a reconditioned overdrive gearbox depending on the supplier and whether you have a suitable exchange unit.
